According to this 1972 Duala-French dictionary, this phrase’s semantics is "rainbow cloth" (litt. "cloth of rainbow") — see pp. 577, 85, 385. The genitive particle is spelled "la" on p.85 but "" on pp. 385 and 577, which might be just a typo. (The word "ńungu" itself means originally a mythological sea serpent, and thence metaphorically the rainbow, i.a..)
