By Ordinance 12/12 in the Ordinary Session dated 02/10/2012, the work done by Mrs. Nora Elisabeth Ortiz was declared the official winner of the contest "A Flag for my City". It was established in ART. 2° as the official flag of the city of Monte Quemado, Santiago del Estero, Argentina.

The flag is horizontally divided blue over gray (white?) with a broad descending north-south diagonal on which is placed a tree before a half-sun.
