Description of the flag

The Hamilton County Indiana Code of Ordinances section 1-2-2-1 states "The County flag has the following design: The field of the flag is white, with a perfect blue circle in the center. The blue circle contains an inner circle of gold. Within the inner circle along the upper rim, in gold, are the words "HAMILTON COUNTY". Centered beneath these words, in gold, is the word "INDIANA". Within the inner circle, along the lower rim, in gold, is the date "1823". Within the center of the circle is a wooden plow, in brown. The plow has a steel gray blade, plowing a field of green grass. A gold sheaf of wheat stands centered behind the plow." The Code notes that Ordinance 8-3-92A, adopted Aug. 17, 1992, provided "WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that the distinctive County banner flown outside of the newly dedicated Hamilton County Government and Judicial Center should be formally adopted as the flag of Hamilton County... SECTION 3. This Ordinance takes effect immediately upon its passage."
