The flag of Rockvale can be seen in front of the town hall on Google Maps. It
consists of a field of blue with a thin brown border; centered upon the blue is
a different version of the town seal. The flag appears to have been adopted in
2019, when the old schoolhouse was remodeled into the new town hall. This town
hall does not use a flag indoors, while the old one flew only the American flag.
Rockvale is a small town in Colorado, historically being a coal mining camp
along with the towns of Brookside, Coal Creek, and Williamsburg. It was first
settledu by William Horace May in 1863, being incorporated on September 10,
1886. Today, Rockvale is a quiet community of 500 residents, with people going
to other places to work as the region's coal mining industry has shut down.
