It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a bend Argent masoned Sable, on sinister chief a fleur-de-lis Or, on dexter base a royal coronet of the same. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "MUNDÃO - VISEU".
Meaning:
Fleur-de-lis and probably also coronet are attributes of Our Lady of Conception, the local patron saint.

Presentation of Mundão

Mundão is one of the 18 communes of Viseu Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 2410 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 15,79 km².
