Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a castle with two embattled towers, Argent masoned Sable, each tower charged with a fleur-de-lis Gules, in chief a crown Or flanked by two corn cobs Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "GILMONDE"
Meaning:
Castle and fleur-de-lis are representing the local Castle of Faria, an important archaeological estate. The crown is an attribute of St. Mary, the local patron saint. The corn cobs are symbolizing agriculture.
