The council informed me that they did not have a flag (17 December 2024), but they informed me that Municipal Chronicler Hernán Farías Gómez had plans to propose the idea for 2025, a flag or banner carrying the heraldic coat of arms of Rayones.

The coat of arms was adopted through the Municipal Identity program with support of the Program of the Frontiers in 1983 and consolidated in 1985. It was presented in a festival in Monterrey in 1985 where each municipality presented its own symbols. The idea was proposed by Carlos Gómez Flores to the Secretary of Education, coordinated with the Cultural Management of the Government of the State of Nuevo León. Municipal Official Efraín Palomares Flores at the time was tasked with consulting historic elements that the coat of arms should carry.
The coat of arms has the same form as the coat of arms of the state, having a helmet at the top and a ribbon below in the National Colors reading Los Rayones, N.L. The sides of the border read SAN MIGUEL DEL TASAJAL (its old name), and the year it became a Municipality in 1851 at the bottom. The upper-left section depicts the Temple of San Miguel Arcángel in the upper-left; a crowned red rampant lion in the upper-right as a symbol of the state; the Cerro de Mediodía hill in the lower-left with its shade marking 12 hours hence its name; and finally, an orchard of walnut trees in the lower-right, significant in the municipal economy.
