The coat of arms of Los Aldamas was adopted in 1982, when the Secretary of Culture of the State asked for the creation of municipal coats of arms. The coat of arms has the same form as the coat of arms of the State, having at the top a helmet and a ribbon below in the National Colors reading LOS ALDAMAS N.L. The sides of the border read VILLA DE SANTA MARIA DE LOS ALDAMAS, the original name. At the bottom is the year 1829, when its name changed to Los Aldamas. The upper-left section depicts the Franciscan church of the Santa María de los Hoyos de San Juan Mission. The upper-right section depicts a crowned red rampant lion, symbol of the State. The lower-left section depicts the brothers Ignacio and Juan Aldama, revolutionaries in the War of the Independence and namesake of the Municipality. The lower-right section depicts the Municipal Building. In the center is an inescutcheon, depicting a shield with a red border and crosses surrounding; a chain is in the center. This is the shield of Don Bernardino de Meneses, Monroy y Mendoza, Conde de Penalva, original owner of the land.
