Coat of Arms

from sefircoahuila.gob.mx

The council informed me they did not have information regarding the municipal coat of arms; though it is known the Congress of the State approved it on 18 July 1980. The border reads at the top MUNICIPIO DE SAN JUAN DE SABINAS COAHUILA; at the bottom UNION TRABAJO PROGRESO. The upper-left depicts an open book and lit torch for education. To the upper-right, a bovine, cob of corn, and ear of wheat for cattle-raising and agriculture respectively. The lower section depicts two hands emerging; to the left, sustaining a cogwheel and caduceus for industry, commerce, and medicine; to the right, a hand sustaining a charcoal rock, principal product of the subsoil. In the center is a factory with its chimney releasing smoke in the upper-left section. In front of it, a miner wearing a hard hat.
