Coat of Arms

from sefircoahuila.gob.mx

I was informed by the council that they could not find information regarding the municipal coat of arms. An eagle for the Nationality is seen behind the shield, holding a ribbon in its beak reading POR EL HONOR Y POR LA PATRIA [For Honor and for the Fatherland]. The border of the shield reads MORELOS, COAHUILA at the top; and 1826 at the bottom, its year of foundation. The upper-left section depicts a Phrygian cap of liberty and two crossed ears of wheat, one of sorghum, for agriculture. The upper-right section depicts a hand holding a hammer for work. At the bottom, three walnut trees by two streams, having in the background the Santa Rita Hill, which was the original name of the population here.
