Coat of Arms

The coat of arms was adopted on 28 November 1986, being designed by José Manuel López Cháirez. The border is scrolled. It reads FERTILIDAD TRABAJO AMISTAD [Fertility, Work, Friendship]. At the bottom FCO I MADERO COAH. The corners each depict a grape and leaf, important product of the area. The inner section of the field is divided into blue (upper-left) bearing a cotton gin factory. To the upper-left (yellow) are four cotton buds; these elements represent agriculture. The lower half is a ploughed field, having a canal cut across to the top where the sun rises and a train can be seen within it.
