The ratio is 3:5. The white flag is horizontally divided by two narrow, blue stripes. Between the stripes is the municipal coat of arms.

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue shield is a golden (= yellow) plant of rape with six blossoms. Above left is a silver (= white) church.
Meaning:
The plant is symbolizing the rural character of the municipality. The blossoms are representing the six villages forming the municipality. The church is the local parish church built in 1198 and dedicated to St. Vicelin. The round tower is left from the first building (12th century).

The silver (= white) shield is divided by a blue, embowed bend sinister. Above right is a green leaf of linden tree. Below left is a black wheel with eight spokes.
Meaning:
The leaf is symbolizing the village square, surrounded by linden trees and the proud of the inhabitants. The wheel is symbolizing the federal road B 404, today an important connection between Kiel and Berlin. The bend is symbolizing the Trave River.

In a red shield is a golden (= yellow), rooted oak tree surrounded by eight silver (= white) horseshoes.
Meaning:
The oak tree is symbolizing the "oak of peace", which had been planted in 1871. The village was first mentioned in 1342. Then eight acres (Hufen) formed the village, symbolized by the horseshoes. The golden colour of the tree is symbolizing the fertile soil.

A golden (= yellow) three-peaked mountain is nearly completely filling the blue shield. Over a base of blue and silver (= white) waves is a red house flanked by four green leaves ordered paly 2:2.
Meaning:
The base and the mountain are symbolizing the attractive landscape on the shores of the Seedorf Lake. The house is the gate lodge of Seedorf Manor. The leaves are symbolizing the alleyway to Seedorf Manor. The golden colour is symbolizing agriculture, especially the cultivation of grain and rapeseed. The waves are symbolizing three local lakes.

Meaning:
The village was first mentioned in 1177 as "Stubbekesthorp". The mountain is symbolizing the Moosberg, the highest elevation on the municipality's area. The waves are symbolizing the Segeberg Lake. The hawthorn is symbolizing the hedges in the municipality.

Meaning:
The oak leaves are symbolizing the medieval woods and the forest clearances. The horse is symbolizing the governmental horse breeding farm, which in 1866 had been transferred by the Prussian government from Plön to Traventhal. The farm was dissolved in 1960. But the Holstein horses are still well known all over the world. Nowadays the environment is used for equestrian sports. The other elements are canting symbolizing the Trave River flowing across the landscape with its hedges.

All charges are golden (= yellow). The green shield is divided by a bend wavy. Above left is a windmill, below right is a megalithic tomb.
Meaning:
The bend wavy is symbolizing Garbek Creek. The municipality consists of the two villages of Garbek and Wensin proper. Garbek is represented by the image of the local windmill, Wensin by the tomb being an example for the numerous tumuli in Wensin. The green colour is symbolizing agriculture as the common economic base of both parts.

Description of coat of arms:
The green shield is divided by a golden (= yellow) fess wavy. Above in the bigger field is a silver (= white) heron, armed golden and holding a golden fish in his beak. Below is a silver (= white) stomp having an offspring.
Meaning:
Great parts of the natural environment have been kept around Westerrade. The attractive landscape is symbolized by the colours yellow and green. Creeks and little lakes created an excellent breeding ground for herons. The stomps is a canting element, representing the meaning of Westerrade, i.e. western forest clearance. The fess wavy is symbolizing the Struckau, a local creek, which separates the villages of Westerrade proper and Osterrade.
