Shield Azure, a hind passant reguardant Argent tongued Gules.
Meaning:
Zierenberg was founded between 1290 and 1294. The current arms are based on the oldest known seal from 1304 displays a hind. The name at the time was Tyrberch, (deer's mountain or animal's mountain), so the hind might have been a canting element. In the seal the hind and a bush were displayed on the peaks of a doublemount. Later seals from the 14th and 17th century only displayed a hind passant on a plane base. Siebmacher (1605) and Wessel (1621) displayed a golden hind on a green base and omitted the bush. Since Otto Hupp the hind is painted silver.
