Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Sable an entrance hall Or; beneath parted per pale, at dexter Argent, a facetted cross fitchy Gules, at sinister Azure, a lion rampant barry of ten of Argent and Gules.
Meaning:
The entrance hall is that one of the Imperial Abbey in Lorsch. The cross fitchy is taken from the arms of the abbey, which played a major role in the local history. The lion barry is taken from the arms of Hesse, as the city belongs to Hesse since the early 19th century.
The arms were approved in 1923.
