Shield parted per fess, above silver charged with a branch of linden with three leaves, below golden charged with two paly, black bear's paws armed red. The shield is topped by a red mural crown and supported by a pair of silver horses forcene, all placed upon a golden basement.
Meaning:
A new market town was built by merging of the market towns of Bassum proper, Freudenberg and Loge in 1896, it gained city rank in 1929. The bear's paws are alluding to the Counts of Hoya, former rulers until 1582. The three leaves are symbolizing the former market towns, which merged in 1896.
