Description of coat of arms:
Shield Azure, a sword Argent in pale, flanked by two inescutcheons, at dexter Argent three leaves of water lily Gules ordered 2:1, at sinister Or two bars Gules.
Meaning:
The sword is symbolising that Lastrup had been seat of a local. The arms with the leaves are those of the Counts of Tecklenburg, the arms with bars those of the Counts of Oldenburg. Lastrup had been a part of Tecklenburg and the Counts of Oldenburg had some patronage privileges in the local parish church.
The arms were devised and approved in 1936.
