Municipality

The municipality of Jupi� (2,158 inhabitants in 2012; 9,171 ha) is located on the border with Paran�, 700 km north-west of Florian�polis.

Jupi� was established by Edmar Hack and his father, Guilherme Hack, founders of Industrial Colonizadora Hack e Ltda. The first settlers, the Nichetti, Accorsi and Mazetto families, settled the place in 1953; they were joined the next year by the Spinello and Cividini families.
The municipality of Jupi� was established by State Law No. 9,890 promulgated on 19 July 1995, separating from Galv�o, and inaugurated on 1 January 1997.
