Municipality

The municipality of Vila Flores (3,207 inhabitants in 2010; 10,782 ha) is located 150 km north of Porto Alegre.

Vila Flores, originally known as Pinheiro Seco, was renamed to Vila Flores in 1920, as a tribute to the Fiori family, which developed trade in the area. The district of Vila Flores was established within Veran�polis by Municipal Law No. 240 promulgated on 30 September 1955.
The municipality of Vila Flores was established by State Law No. 8,627 promulgated on 12 May 1988.
